Company Description

Gilbert Albert Community Center Inc. based in Dorchester, Massachusetts, is looking for interns to fill five immediate positions as student case managers. Our mission is to provide a range of services to improve the quality of life of recent immigrants and people in need in our community. We provide educational resources, youth programs, and community outreach initiatives. Paraprofessional and Social Work students are welcomed.

 

Role Description

The Case Manager can work a few hours at our center and complete paperwork and progress reports remotely. The Case Manager will be responsible for managing a caseload of ESL students, conducting assessments, developing service plans, and monitoring progress. The Case Manager will also be responsible for making referrals to appropriate community resources and providing crisis intervention services when necessary. Other duties may include conducting outreach activities and participating in team meetings.

 

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Highly organized and detail-oriented

• Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively

• Experience working in social services or a related field is preferred

• Ability to speak a second language is a plus
